Laundry

The laundry area in the pantry is 60″W x 126″H. There are drain pipes and water lines running up the right corner of the room, and will be framed in a bump-out there that’s 6″D x 14″w wide — the narrow cabinetry on the right side is shown in the renderings to only be about 10″D, but could be deeper if it made sense (up to ~16″ to be same depth as washer/dryer cabinets. Stacking a compact heat-pump washer-dryer (no vent duct!) and want to have room for a wall-mounted cordless vacuum, full-size ironing board (which is wider than the left and right cabinetry is deep, so seems like it’ll have to protrude), laundry hamper, and a cabinet for laundry detergent and all the associated stuff. Could also consider a putting a door on the right cabinet of option A1 or A2 (like in B1) to hide the vacuum in its own closet. (vacuum is 12″x12″x48″).

The window on the left also poses an issue for limiting the depth of the cabinets, but think we can do a 12″D x 20″W cabinet to the left of the washer/dryer stack. Option A1 is the original sketch from the plans, with a countertop to the left of the w/d… I like this plan, but it didn’t account for the ironing board which led to the other options. Could possibly find a new home altogether for the ironing board in the bedroom closets, if that made more sense (and may be more likely where ironing will get done…)
